The iFLOWS project aims to improve the prevention and detection of illicit material and dangerous substances in postal and courier services within the EU. There are currently various screening systems in place, but they lack effectiveness and intelligence for identifying risks and threats. Criminals take advantage of security gaps to transport illegal items easily. The project proposes a unique approach to assist customs, police, and postal/courier services by enhancing operational readiness, situation awareness, and detection capabilities. This will be achieved through the development of a tailored C4I system, improved intelligence on threats and suspicious flows, and the implementation of novel detection technologies. These advancements will optimize the detection process without disrupting the flow of postal and courier services.
